About The Role

  • -
  • Safety works with an Operations crew on the movement of railcars while switching, moving between yards, or travelling to customer facilities or interchanges;
  • -
  • Observe hand and radio signals in the yard in accordance with railroad rules and regulations;
  • -
  • Operate track switches as needed;
  • -
  • Perform procedures required to couple/uncouple rail cars;
  • -
  • Apply hand brakes on rail cars not in active use; and
  • -
  • Ensure proper permissions and authorities are obtained.
  • -
  • Minimum grade 12 diploma completion or GED equivalent;
  • -
  • Must be in good physical condition;
  • -
  • Must have a clean and valid BC driver’s license Class 5 minimum
  • -
  • This is a safety critical position; and
  • -
  • May be required to occasionally operate company vehicles.
