About The Role
- -
- Safety works with an Operations crew on the movement of railcars while switching, moving between yards, or travelling to customer facilities or interchanges;
- -
- Observe hand and radio signals in the yard in accordance with railroad rules and regulations;
- -
- Operate track switches as needed;
- -
- Perform procedures required to couple/uncouple rail cars;
- -
- Apply hand brakes on rail cars not in active use; and
- -
- Ensure proper permissions and authorities are obtained.
- -
- Minimum grade 12 diploma completion or GED equivalent;
- -
- Must be in good physical condition;
- -
- Must have a clean and valid BC driver’s license Class 5 minimum
- -
- This is a safety critical position; and
- -
- May be required to occasionally operate company vehicles.
