Team Lead, Card Settlement

To supervise and authorize settlements and support Unit Head in providing quality service to partners in the area of settlement of transactions

Key Responsibilities

• Understanding of governing principles and rules of card settlements.
• Clear understanding of Visa, Verve, Afrigo, Amex and Mastercard settlement process and procedures.
• Ensure timely settlement of card transactions.
• Balance incoming and outgoing transaction report against settlement values received from the associations (Switches).
• Ensure correct entries to relevant settlement, expense or revenue accounts daily.
• Responsible for ensuring that existing internal controls and regulatory policies over the settlement process are strictly adhere to.
• Ensure the merchant transactions are posted into appropriate GL and account.
• Ensure that suspense accounts are cleared daily.
• Ensure that all regulatory reports are rendered as at when due.
• Ensure accurate and timely merchant settlements
• Ensure prompt processing of charge backs to avoid exposure.
• Ensure prompt processing of credit cards settlement and repayment files daily.
• Ensure DTS and credit cards reconciliation.
• Responsible for championing of automation of Settlement processes.
• Analyse Settlement data to identify trends, issues and areas for improvement.
• Ensure regular training and guidance to settlement officers.
• Foster strong relationships with partners and other stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate potential risk in settlement processes.

Qualification

• First degree in any Discipline with a minimum of Second-Class honors.
• Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage

Professional Membership

A recognized professional certification will be an added advantage

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 6 years relevant experience and exposure in the marketing of financial services, will be an added advantage
