About The Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant, the Staff II Accountant plays a key role in TERREPOWER's monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys collaborating across departments, and takes ownership of their responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, possesses advanced Excel skills, and demonstrates excellent time management and communication abilities, with an eagerness to learn and grow alongside the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record monthly journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet account reconciliations, with a strong focus on completing timely and accurate bank reconciliations.
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform payroll accounting activities, including payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Assist with administration of company credit cards, the expense management platform, and monthly expense journal entries.
  • Assist with fixed assets, prepaid expenses, intercompany transactions, and sales tax filings.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Operations, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate financial data and process alignment.
  • Support external audit requests by preparing schedules and documentation.
  • Analyze financial information and identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Contribute to special projects and system/process improvement initiatives as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing, distribution, or growing company environment.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with month-end close processes, journal entries, accruals, and bank account reconciliations.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and payroll-related reconciliations.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a rapidly growing organization.
  • ERP system experience (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
  • Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes.
  • Experience with electronic bank statement imports (BAI2 files) and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
  • CPA certification or CPA track a plus.
