Pharmacy Technician - Medication History

• Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Technician performs a variety of pharmaceutical tasks. Assists in the overall
• operation of the pharmacy by providing accurate, efficient and timely medication supplies to patients
• and assists Clinical Pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical therapy in Acute Care, Transitional
• Care, Oncology and Home Care for geriatric, adult and pediatric patients.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification

• Current California Pharmacy Technician License is required upon hire.
• Pharmacy Tech Certification Board (PTCB) Cert required within one year of hire.

Knowledge

• Six months experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital pharmacy, providing

unit dose and IV additive service or home care pharmacy strongly preferred.

• Knowledge of medications and use, the ability to read physician orders and familiarity with

medical terminology is required.

Skills

• Basic High School Chemistry experience, basic math competency, basic mechanical aptitude

skill, good interpersonal communication skills, and basic computer aptitude.
