The Opportunity

This combination position supports the operation, maintenance, testing, and inspection of natural gas pipelines and/or compression facilities within an assigned operating area. Working closely with site personnel, the successful candidate will demonstrate initiative, accountability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

The incumbent is responsible for completing required competency training and adhering to TC Energy's safety practices, operating procedures, work management processes, and compliance requirements associated with assigned assets and work activities.

What You'll Do

This position will be qualified to perform the core functions identified below.

Pipeline

• Operate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipment within the assigned area.
• Assist with general pipeline right-of-way (ROW) maintenance activities.
• Assist with pipeline crossing requests.
• Support Technical Services teams with fleet management of storage wells.
• Gauge wellhead pressures.
• Enforce right-of-way use and Damage Prevention guidelines.
• Identify, investigate, and report right-of-way encroachments.
• Communicate with contractors, landowners, government agencies, and the public regarding gas operations.
• Maintain a general knowledge of pipeline coating and construction standards.
• Review and process farm tap requests.
• Identify, investigate, and report asset exposures.
• Follow up on aerial patrol findings.
• Assist in addressing One Call requests in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Perform line locates and complete associated stakeout reports.
• Assist with pigging operations, including smart pig and wireline activities.
• Operate and maintain launchers, receivers, pigging valves, and geophones.
• Assist in the removal of pipeline freezes.
• Assist with open-flow and rock-pressure testing on gas wells.

Compressor

• Assist with the operation and inspection of station equipment.
• Assist with general maintenance and repair of station equipment.
• Perform building maintenance and groundskeeping activities.
• Monitor and maintain equipment fluid levels.
• Assist in handling various fluids, including used oil, glycol, pipeline liquids, and wastewater.
• Support site waste inventory management, including proper storage, labeling, and disposal coordination.
• Complete training and provide relief coverage for Station Operator, Repairman, and Maintenance Mechanic roles, including shift work as required.

General Operations & Maintenance

• Document work activities within the company's electronic Work Management System and complete required follow-up documentation.
• Assist in work planning activities and participate in safety and team meetings.
• Write, review, and update Gas Handling and Energy Isolation/Lockout Tagout (LOTO) plans.
• Support gas handling activities, including blowdown, purging, pressurizing, equipment isolation, and operation of air movers/expellers.
• Perform leakage surveys.
• Perform general painting, facility upkeep, and housekeeping duties.
• Grade, repair, and document leaks using SAP work management processes.
• Grade, repair, and document atmospheric corrosion using SAP work management processes.
• Inspect and maintain safety-related equipment.
• Blow vessels and drips as required and monitor gas dew points.
• Operate methanol injectors and pumps.
• Read, interpret, and update operational maps.
• Report spills promptly and ensure proper cleanup and disposal.
• Manage and support contractors and vendors in accordance with Control of Work requirements.
• Perform environmental sampling activities required for permits and waste management.
• Gauge and inspect tanks.
• Prepare and complete hazardous waste shipping manifests.
• Utilize incident and event reporting tools such as Enablon.
• Support Regulatory Compliance teams and external agencies during field and integrated inspections.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment including actuators, valves, stem seals, and related components.
• Support the safe and efficient execution of low-complexity projects.
• Support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).
• Support Management of Change (MOC) reviews.
• Support Facility Maintenance Plan (FMP) reviews.
• Participate in facility safety inspections.
• Obtain quotes and maintain parts and tool inventories.
• Safely operate quick-opening enclosures associated with pipeline and station equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills, including proficiency with: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams). Windows and Apple operating systems. Photo sharing and editing applications used for field documentation. File upload and download processes for operational documentation and photographs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain all required Operator Qualification (OQ) tasks for the position.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to maintain any required DOT certifications.
• Ability to operate UTVs where required.

Additional Information

• This position includes exposure to varying and potentially extreme weather conditions.
• The role is subject to call-outs and overtime requirements.
• Travel to other facilities may be required for training and maintenance activities.
• The position may require participation in a rotating shift schedule.
• The position may require changes in work schedules with limited notice.
