What is special about this role?At Helix, our bioinformatics team creates cutting-edge NGS pipelines, handling high volumes of patient samples in a tightly regulated space. As a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, you will lead efforts to ensure pipeline accuracy and reliability, guaranteeing high-quality and consistent results for our <patients.As> a Staff Bioinformatics Scientist, you will:Develop new bioinformatics capabilities to expand use cases and drive volumeWork cross-functionally with engineering, lab, quality, and clinical teams to launch new science productsSupport operations by evaluating and triaging bioinformatics data underlying clinical variant callsOversee bioinformatics operations, including developing tools and methods to identify and track key metricsDevelop, maintain, and document clinical analytical validationsAbout you:Masters with 5+ years of relevant experience or PhD with 3+ years of relevant experienceHands-on experience with analyzing DNA sequencing dataCoding and/or data analysis experience in PythonStrong cross-functional collaboration and communication skillsA willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges to drive tasks to completionPluses:Subject matter knowledge in clinical genomicsExperience across multiple -omics technologies (e.g. WES, WGS, RNA-seq, proteomics)Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. CLIA/CAP, FDA)Expected Interview Process:1) Recruiter Screen 2) Manager Screen/Tech Screen 3) Onsite 4) Offer Expected Pay For This Role:There are 3 distinct parts to your Helix offer: 1) Base Salary 2) Annual Bonus 3) Equity Expected Helix Base: $146,000 - $196,000 per annumExpected Helix Discretionary Annual Bonus: 15% of your annual salaryEquity: We offer generous equity at Helix.
