to join our

Structured Finance Team

as part of our financial services business in

Luxembourg

.

As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Luxembourg office opened its doors in 2007. As part of our Luxembourg team you will be performing below key duties

Key duties

VP SF is responsible for u

ndertaking a high number of new business/transactions, whether fiduciary or administrative in nature each year and supports and administering a portfolio of Structure Finance clients

.

This includes, but is not limited to, the following

  • being the assigned key client contact and manager of a portfolio of Structured Finance clients;
  • acting as a director on new vehicles in an individual capacity, attending board meetings, signing minutes and fulfilling all fiduciary duties as appropriate;
  • analysing proposed structures from a new business acceptance perspective, obtaining approvals, where required, and issuing fee quotes;
  • undertaking a number of new client/transactions each year;
  • reviewing transaction documents, providing written comments to parties as appropriate or attending conference calls as required

liaising with arrangers, investment managers, lawyers and other relevant parties concerning the setting up of new business as well as

acting as a point of contact for ongoing issue resolution, escalating

or SVP if necessary;

ensuring that files are compliant with MaplesFS procedures and policies;

ensuring that all relevant MaplesFS databases are completed and maintained with accurate information in relation to the assigned portfolio of clients;

ensuring that all administration in respect of a client is completed in accordance with the MaplesFS policies and procedures and in a timely manner;

anticipating the client needs well beyond current projects/engagements;

adding to the client’s short-term and long-term business results;

understanding the clients, their operating environment and circumstances, as well as the strategic issues which may impact them;

developing effective working relations with the assigned portfolio of clients and responding promptly and professionally to the client requests;

supporting the SVP in assessing and advising clients of compliance requirements and obtaining necessary documentation prior to commencing work in accordance with all internal procedures;

when required, liaising with auditors during the audit planning process, during the course of the annual financial statement audit and deal with any issues which may arise.

recording the time spent

in the system on a properly manner and according to MFX rules;

ensuring that the client files are kept in good order, including the Compliance file;

creating and maintaining the integrity of the information held on the Maples IT systems;

The VPSF ensures that Companies under his/her management are compliant with the law and regulations. This includes but is not limited to any KYC issue which may arise and compliance regulations which involve:

ensuring that client meet Luxembourg Business Acceptance Committee (LBAC) Procedures and Business Acceptance Committee (BAC) Procedures

;

  • supporting the SVP in the preparation of the BAC and LBAC notes; and
  • supporting the SVP in ensuring that
  • the clients comply with regulatory requirements, i.e. CSSF reporting, BCL, filing of the annual accounts, tax compliance;
  • any other ad-hoc duties.

Requirements

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following

  • At least 8+ years of experience ideally gained in financial services, audit or any other similar business;
  • Strong knowledge of structured finance transactions, Luxembourg governance and relevant Luxembourg laws;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills and experience;
  • Must possess excellent project and time management skills and be highly organised and detail-focused with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to display analytical and pragmatic thinking;
  • Self-motivated and proactive approach to work;
  • Fluent English (Good German would be an asset but not essential).
