DSC General Laborer - 1st Shift

This position entails the preparation of products to be added to inventory in exact compliance with customer requirements, government regulations and company policies in a safe and efficient matter

Schedule: 1st Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm, flexibility will be required

This position is also eligible for bonus based on performance and subject to the terms of the Company’s applicable plans.

Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and vendors.

• Scan the product to identify correct SKU
• Properly handle carton and unload cartons onto conveyer to be palletized
• Use tablet to identify proper pallet requirements
• Build pallets to specifications of customer
• Label the pallets upon completion
• Use resources such as step ladder and manual wrap as needed
• Identify and properly handle different carton sizes and carton weight
• Safely operate all sit-down/forklift, reach truck, and pallet jacks to stage pallets, transport, and put-away into triple deep racking
• Load pallets on to wrapper
• Take pallets off wrapper and stage into lanes
• Pull pallets from conveyer lines
• Follow SOP to ensure proper wrapping process is followed
• Wrap product to the pallet to ensure product is secured
• Put-away pallets from dock staging lanes into triple deep racking
• Identify dimensions to either double or triple stack
• Bulk picks require pulling pallets from racking and stage on the dock for shipping
• Inform shipping team when ready to load a trailer
• Use a jack stand to secure trailer before entering
• Use RF scanner to identify pallets and correct process on loading
• Follow SOP on how to load a trailer
• Load pallets from staging lanes into trailers using forklift and secure loads for safe transportation
• Communicate with shipping team once trailer is completed

Minimum Requirements

• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications

• Have at least one (1) year experience working in a manufacturing or distribution facility
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience using material handling equipment (for example: forklifts (stand and sit), pallet jacks, hand trucks, order pickers, vacuum-hoists, drum dollies, conveyor belts, etc.)
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience operating stationary power equipment such as palletizers, conveyors, hoists and stackers, mills or farm/construction equipment
