PowerBuilder Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PowerBuilder Developer based in Saudi Arabia.

This is a remote contract opportunity for an experienced PowerBuilder Developer supporting the development, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of enterprise <applications.You> will work across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis and architecture through development, testing, deployment, and support.The role combines hands-on PowerBuilder development with relational database design, SQL development, application integration, and production <support.You> will collaborate with architects, business stakeholders, and other developers to design practical and reliable technology solutions.The position also involves analyzing data integrity, resolving application issues, and contributing to quality assurance and code review <activities.You> will help maintain critical legacy applications while implementing enhancements and supporting modernization initiatives.This role is well suited to a detail-oriented developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems in an enterprise environment.

Accountabilities

• Develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise applications based on documented business requirements.
• Provide detailed effort estimates across the software development lifecycle and assess service requests to recommend appropriate solutions.
• Collaborate with architects and technical teams to define application architecture, development requirements, integrations, and technology solutions.
• Develop application code, technical specifications, system architecture components, and technical interfaces using PowerBuilder and related technologies.
• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases, stored procedures, and associated data-processing components.
• Integrate third-party tools and applications while reviewing system and integration testing activities.
• Participate in quality assurance activities, including design reviews, code reviews, testing, and validation of functional and non-functional components.
• Analyze data integrity issues, troubleshoot application problems, and implement appropriate corrective solutions.
• Provide ongoing production support and contribute to problem resolution for existing applications.
• Document application code, system configurations, maintenance procedures, operational processes, deployment activities, and transition requirements.
• Contribute to technical and operational guides, change requests, and deployment documentation.
• Provide technical oversight and support to other developer resources when required.

Requirements

At least 6 years of experience developing new application solutions, maintaining existing applications, and providing ongoing production support.

At least 5 years of professional experience as a PowerBuilder Developer.

At least 3 years of experience designing, developing, and analyzing relational databases, including stored procedures.

At least 2 years of experience maintaining and enhancing legacy applications.

Experience with version control systems such as Team Foundation Server.

Strong operational knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including database creation and administration.

Extensive knowledge of data processing, n-tier technology platforms, and enterprise software applications.

Understanding of systems networking, information security, relational databases, and web services design standards.

Experience developing and implementing standards, procedures, and guidelines that support operational processes.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and listening skills.

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and discretion when working with sensitive data and security-related information.

Experience with .NET, Power BI, Microsoft Azure databases and tools, Sybase-to-SQL Server conversions, additional programming languages, web development technologies, or cloud services such as AWS and Azure is preferred.

Understanding of the software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies, along with strong SQL development experience, is preferred.
