Senior Web Developer (AI-Augmented)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Web Developer (AI-Augmented) based in United Kingdom.

This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced full-stack engineer who combines strong web development expertise with an AI-native approach to software <delivery.You>’ll design, build, and maintain scalable applications across both frontend and backend systems.The role offers the opportunity to work extensively with React, TanStack, NestJS, Next.js, and AWS in a modern cloud <environment.You>’ll also build production-grade AI capabilities involving LLMs, RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, and tool <integrations.AI> coding tools will be part of your everyday engineering workflow, from development and debugging to testing and <automation.You>’ll contribute to architectural decisions, technical quality, and engineering practices while collaborating closely with product, design, and engineering teams.This role is ideal for a hands-on senior engineer who combines technical depth with strong judgment about where AI can accelerate development without compromising quality.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack web applications across frontend and backend systems.
• Lead architecture discussions and drive implementation of key technical decisions.
• Build modern frontend experiences using React and TanStack, with a focus on performance, maintainability, and scalable component architecture.
• Develop modular, testable backend services using NestJS.
• Implement server-side rendering, static generation, and API routes using Next.js.
• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure and deployment workflows using AWS services such as Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and ECS/Fargate.
• Design and ship AI-powered product capabilities, including LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, tool/function calling, evaluations, and agentic workflows.
• Use AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and repetitive engineering tasks.
• Apply sound engineering judgment when reviewing AI-generated code, validating its correctness, security, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality features.
• Maintain engineering quality through code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD practices, and thoughtful AI-assisted development workflows.
• Contribute to technical improvements that increase engineering velocity, system reliability, and product scalability.

Requirements

5+ years of professional web development experience.

Demonstrated daily experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Windsurf, or comparable solutions, with a clear understanding of when to rely on AI and when to override its output.

Hands-on experience building production features using LLMs, including prompt or context engineering, tool use/function calling, RAG, evaluations, or agentic systems.

Deep expertise in React, including performance optimization and scalable component architecture.

Strong hands-on experience with TanStack tools, particularly React Query and TanStack Router.

Solid experience developing modular and testable backend services with NestJS.

Experience with Next.js, including SSR, SSG, API routes, and full-stack application development.

Strong proficiency with AWS, particularly Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and ECS/Fargate.

Strong understanding of modern CI/CD practices and containerized application environments.

Strong technical judgment and attention to detail, particularly when evaluating AI-generated code for subtle errors, quality issues, and production risks.

Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, and engineering teams.

Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to operate independently in a remote environment.

Experience with MCP servers, agent frameworks such as LangGraph or CrewAI, or evaluation harnesses is a plus.

Background in healthcare, HIPAA, or telehealth platforms is an advantage.

Experience with microservices or event-driven architectures is beneficial.

Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK is a plus.

Contributions to open-source projects, AI-focused side projects, or a public development blog are valued.

Experience mentoring junior developers and helping teams adopt AI-assisted engineering practices responsibly is an advantage.
