Software Engineer (Full Stack, AI/ML)

Role Purpose

The Software Engineer is required to take a holistic view and be engaged throughout the development lifecycle. They will participate in and occasionally drive all our R&D activities. Subject to their specialization, they will be involved in the design, development, testing, publishing, and/or support of different cloud-based products and solutions. The role will work closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes, while providing guidance to associate level engineers. Additionally, they will provide recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and/or quality of the solutions developed by the team and occasionally lead the implementation of new solutions.

Area Key Skills

Core Tasks

• Ongoing evaluation (test) of feature design – proactively work with others to identify issues or potential risk areas with the architecture (performance etc…)
• Evaluate whether implementation tasks meet feature requirements and work with Team Lead and Technical Architect to ensure it does
• Develop features using best practices and ensure it fits with the architecture for the product
• Ensure the right work is being done, work with Team Lead to know that product qualities like, unit tests, automation, throughout, capacities, security & performance will be sufficient
• Ensure design and implementation work meets the stakeholder’s requirements
• Ensure that the feature design is correct for operations, as well as deployment and sustainability
• Identify, monitor and resolve feature related issues; escalate if individual resolution is not possible
• Support departmental and team initiatives

Primary Skills

• Back-End Development:
• Must have 3+ years of backend development experience using Java + Golang + Python.
• Experience in building scalable applications with Cloud and DevOps practices.
• Experience building backend services that integrate with LLMs
• Experience with workflow orchestration frameworks (LangGraph or similar) for multi-stage AI pipelines
• Proficiency in event-driven architecture using message brokers (NATS, Kafka, or RabbitMQ)
• Proficiency in Docker and containerization.

• Backend & APIs: Strong experience in RESTful APIs, Microservices architecture, and backend system design.
• Database: Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL / SQL Server / Oracle RDBMS
• Systems: Experience working with Linux/Unix systems and services
• Cloud Platforms: Must have 2+ year of working experience in Cloud technologies, preferably AWS, GCP and/or OKD / OpenShift development
• DevOps: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and modern DevOps practices (GitHub Actions, Harness, Jenkins)
• Agile: Experience working Confluence, JIRA and in an Agile team.

• Secondary Skills:
• Familiarity with Machine Learning algorithms (classification, clustering, regression, neural networks) and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
• Experience leveraging AI-powered development tools (GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)
• Experience integrating applications with LLMs and AI APIs.
• Experience with LLM evaluation and benchmarking techniques.
• Understanding modern AI concepts such as Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI Agents, Vector DB, and Responsible AI practices are preferred.
• Should have working knowledge of Monitoring Tools such as Datadog and/or OpsGenie, and Jira Service Management (JSM); familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana is a plus.
• Familiarity with security scanning tools (BlackDuck, Snyk, or similar)
• Understanding of Cloud cost optimization strategies.
• Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or DevOps Engineer certification is a strong advantage.
• Track record of maintaining high-quality Confluence runbooks, architecture docs, and deployment guides.
• Familiarity with E2E test frameworks such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Playwright.
• Advanced AI / GenAI Concepts: Understanding of Prompt Engineering, RAG, AI Agents, Vector DBs, and Responsible AI practices. Experience integrating applications with LLM APIs or conversational AI platforms.
• Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, load balancing, firewalls and VPCs.
• Awareness of DevSecOps practices, secrets management, and compliance standards.

Education

• A degree or post graduate qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering at 2:1 or above.
• Commercial experience working within software engineering.
