Laboratory Applications Migration Consultant

We are looking for a Laboratory Applications Migration Consultant to join an international Windows 11 migration project within a global laboratory environment. If you have experience supporting laboratory applications, workstation management, and end-user environments, and enjoy working on complex IT migrations, this opportunity could be for you.

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate migration activities with end users and local support teams across multiple sites;
• Assess, test, and validate laboratory application compatibility with Windows 11 environments;
• Install, configure, and document laboratory applications on Windows 11 workstations;
• Collaborate with application vendors to identify, obtain, and implement compatible software versions when required;
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues involving laboratory PCs, equipment, and network infrastructure;
• Investigate and resolve technical issues encountered throughout the migration process;
• Provide end-user training and guidance on newly installed or upgraded laboratory applications;
• Support data migration activities from legacy application versions and Windows 10 environments to Windows 11;
• Manage incidents and service requests related to Lab PCs and Kiosk PCs within agreed service levels;
• Prepare operational documentation, installation guides, knowledge articles, and migration procedures;
• Work closely with application, infrastructure, network, and support teams to ensure a successful migration rollout;
• Contribute to migration planning, risk identification, and project reporting activities.
• Strong experience supporting laboratory environments, including laboratory PCs, analytical equipment, and data processing systems;
• Hands-on experience with laboratory software such as ACD/Labs, OpenLab, ChemStation, or similar platforms;
• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in workstation management, desktop support, or laboratory application administration;
• Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11 deployment and support;
• Experience with software installation, configuration, upgrades, and application lifecycle management;
• Strong troubleshooting skills across workstations, applications, networks, and peripheral devices;
• Understanding of network infrastructure, databases, software deployment processes, and system integrations;
• Experience handling incidents, service requests, root cause analysis, and end-user support activities;
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation, installation procedures, and user guides;
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal;
• French language skills are considered an advantage;
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and within international project teams.
• Availability to travel within Portugal when required;
• Availability for occasional international travel;
• Experience in multicultural and international environments is considered a plus.
