CNC Steel Fabrication Operator – Cocoa Beach, FL

Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift

• Pay: Up to $27/hour, based on experience
• 2nd Shift Differential: +$3/hour

Position Overview

Seeking a CNC operator with experience in steel fabrication and industrial production. This role involves processing structural steel with CNC cutting, drilling, sawing, and beamline equipment, along with material handling and overhead crane operation.

The position requires frequent standing and handling steel materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC and steel fabrication machinery.
• Operate equipment including:
• Kinetic Plasma Table
• Peddinghaus Saw/Drill Line
• Peddinghaus Angle Master
• Ficep Beamline
• Select appropriate machine settings based on material type, dimensions, and production requirements.
• Confirm steel type, stock size, quantities, and measurements before processing.
• Measure materials to verify dimensions meet production specifications.
• Mark or apply required part identification and production information.
• Maintain daily production and material usage records.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Recognize equipment issues and assist with basic troubleshooting.
• Operate overhead cranes and material transfer/conveyor systems safely.
• Maintain an orderly work area and follow all applicable safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience operating a CNC plasma table or performing steel sawing, drilling, or cutting operations.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/16 inch.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, symbols, and technical notes preferred.
• Experience operating overhead cranes and material handling/conveyor equipment.
• Tekla PowerFab experience preferred.
• Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in hot and cold industrial environments.
• Ability to regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Strong focus on workplace safety, accuracy, and attention to detail.
