Job Type: Full-Time, Contract-to-Hire

• Pay: Up to $25/hour, depending on experience
• 2nd Shift Differential: +$3/hour

• Structural Steel Fitter – 2nd Shift: 2 openings
• Structural Steel Welder/Fitter – 1st Shift: 1 opening

Position Summary

Hiring experienced structural steel fabricators for a contract-to-hire opportunity. Depending on experience, work may focus on steel fitting or combine fitting with Flux Core welding. Candidates will use drawings and measurements to lay out, position, fit, and assemble structural steel components.

Responsibilities

• Interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications.
• Measure, mark, and lay out structural steel for fabrication.
• Position and align steel members for accurate fit-up.
• Fit and assemble components prior to welding.
• Perform Flux Core welding for Welder/Fitter assignments.
• Set up and operate a track torch.
• Properly use and maintain welding and fabrication equipment and tools.
• Inspect measurements, alignment, fit-up, and finished work for accuracy.
• Coordinate with supervisors and coworkers to meet production schedules.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow required safety and workplace procedures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of structural steel fabrication experience.
• Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fitter, Welder/Fitter, Structural Welder, or similar role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and technical drawings.
• Hands-on experience with structural steel layout, fitting, and assembly.
• Knowledge of welding processes, equipment, and materials.
• Ability to set up and operate a track torch.
• Ability to perform Flux Core welding and successfully complete a pre-employment welding test.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate workmanship.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to safe work practices.
• AWS or other recognized welding certification preferred.
