Painter / Material Handler

Job Type: Contract to Hire

Shifts: 1st & 2nd Shift Available

• Pay: Up to $23.00/hour, depending on experience
• 2nd Shift Differential: +$3.00/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile Painter / Material Handler to support painting and production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. Painting will make up approximately 20% of the role, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable performing a variety of shop duties, including material handling, overhead crane operation, loading, rigging, and measuring.

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial painting tasks, approximately 20% of the role
• Operate overhead cranes to move materials and support production
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Perform rigging activities for equipment and materials
• Use a tape measure and other measuring tools accurately
• Operate forklifts and other industrial equipment as needed
• Complete respiratory fit testing and follow required safety procedures
• Assist with various production and shop duties as assigned
• Adapt to changing tasks and support different areas of the operation
• Follow PPE requirements and safe handling procedures when working with chemicals and equipment

Requirements

• Previous painting experience and knowledge of painting techniques
• Experience operating overhead cranes, forklifts, or similar industrial equipment
• Experience with rigging and loading/unloading materials
• Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure
• Ability to pass a respiratory fit test
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Comfortable performing a variety of duties in a fast-paced shop environment
• Knowledge of industrial safety procedures and proper PPE use
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible and willing to take on tasks outside of painting
