We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Junior AI-Assisted Automation Scripting Associate to kickstart their career in our fast-paced DevOps/IT Operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with foundational knowledge in scripting and a keen interest in Generative AI. The role involves learning and applying automation principles by developing, testing, and maintaining scripts across Windows and Linux environments, significantly utilizing AI tools as a coding companion to accelerate development and quality.

In this role, you will work closely with Senior DevOps Engineers and technical mentors who will guide your professional growth, review your code, and assist with complex troubleshooting. As part of the DevOps and IT Operations team, you’ll collaborate with colleagues to automate maintenance, deployments, and monitoring across Windows and Linux lab environments. You will also leverage Generative AI coding assistants like GitHub Copilot as daily companions to accelerate script development and solve technical challenges.

What You’ll Do

• AI-Guided Scripting: Work closely with senior engineers, leveraging Generative AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, internal coding assistants) to write, debug, and understand foundational Shell (Bash/Zsh) and PowerShell scripts.
• Automation Development: Assist in developing simple to moderate automation scripts for system maintenance, basic deployment tasks, data extraction, and monitoring checks on both Linux and Windows Lab systems.
• Learning & Adaptation: Quickly learn and apply standard scripting best practices, including proper error handling, logging, and security considerations, often by analyzing and refining AI-generated code snippets.
• Testing and Validation: Rigorously test and validate newly developed and modified scripts to ensure they function correctly and securely across target environments.
• Documentation Support: Help create clear, simple documentation and runbooks for automation processes and the scripts you develop.
• Version Control: Utilize Git for script version control, collaborating with the wider team on code check-ins and reviews.
• Basic Troubleshooting: Participate in the troubleshooting of automation failures and assist senior staff in identifying root causes related to script logic or environment configurations.
• Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Foundational Scripting Knowledge: Academic or practical exposure to at least one primary scripting language: PowerShell or Shell (Bash/Zsh).
• Aptitude for AI Tools: Demonstrated interest, through academic projects or personal use, in leveraging Generative AI/LLMs (like ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot) for coding assistance.
• Basic OS Knowledge: General understanding of command-line interfaces and file system navigation in both Windows and Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Problem Solving: A strong desire to learn, an analytical mind, and a proactive approach to solving technical challenges.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to clearly document work and ask effective questions.
