Equity Research – Taiwan Tech Hardware – Analyst / Associate

As an Analyst or Associate, you’ll leverage advanced tools, models, and data to provide clients with original, high-impact research and differentiated perspectives. Our team is dedicated to delivering first-class research, which is core to our value proposition and what our clients expect from us.

As an Analyst or Associate in the Taiwan Tech Hardware Research team based in Taipei, you will analyze industry trends, company fundamentals, and market dynamics across Taiwan’s technology hardware supply chain. You will help deliver high-quality research and insights to our clients, collaborate on cross-sector projects, and play a key role in supporting the team’s franchise in the fast-evolving tech hardware space.

Job Responsibilities

• Contribute to thematic and sector-specific reports on Taiwan tech hardware (e.g., EMS/ODM, PC/server supply chain, networking, Apple supply chain).
• Build and maintain financial and valuation models; update forecasts and scenarios around key drivers (end-demand, ASPs, utilization, product mix, margins, FX, capex cycles).
• Handle day-to-day client requests and provide timely, insightful responses.
• Communicate research ideas persuasively to internal and external stakeholders, tailoring communications to client needs.
• Organize and participate in company visits, channel checks, and diligence meetings across Taiwan’s tech corridors (with periodic travel as needed).
• Support earnings season execution (previews, results notes, estimate revisions, key takeaways).
• Suggest new approaches to enhance the team’s research franchise and business impact.
• Understand and adhere to the firm’s risk management policies and applicable legal and regulatory rules.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• 1-4 years of relevant experience (equity research, investment/industry analysis, tech hardware, consulting, or related fields).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; preference for technology, engineering, finance, economics, or data-science-related fields.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to interpret company and industry KPIs.
• Ability to build and maintain robust financial models (base and sensitivity cases) with minimal guidance (Associate) or quickly develop modeling capability
• Ability to synthesize diverse information and articulate a clear, compelling investment thesis.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Hardware Technology background (Apple supply chain related preferred); ability to conduct non-consensus/thematic research.
• Creative problem-solving; seeks innovative approaches.
• Comfortable interacting with business clients and company management.
• Progress toward a CFA, or a CFA designation, is a plus.
