Position Overview

The Vice President, Total Rewards provides leadership to the compensation and benefits team and serves as a key member of the human resources leadership team. This position reports to the CHRO & SVP Communications, leading a team of approximately 25.

The Vice President, Total Rewards is involved in all aspects of global compensation across the organization including the design, policy and administration of compensation and executive compensation programs. The position prepares documents and participates in the Board of Director Compensation and Organization Development Committee meetings.

The Vice President, Total Rewards has overall responsibility for the health, welfare and retirement benefit plans. The position leads the development, communication and administration of employee benefit programs for employees located globally.

Key Responsibilities

Total Rewards Leadership

  • Drive the strategic design and execution of the Total Rewards philosophy.
  • Deliver Total Rewards programs, including executive compensation, compensation, health and welfare benefits, retirement savings benefits, HR policies, and relocation, creating a compelling Total Rewards program that attracts and retains employees.
  • Lead the Total Rewards team to develop and execute programs that are competitive, internally equitable and achieve the results and behaviors that are aligned to business needs and goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the team, processes and systems.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance and manage reporting and disclosures.
  • Foster effective relationships with all stakeholders; both internal groups (HR, Operations, Finance, Communications, and Law) and external third-party vendors to ensure accurate, efficient, and timely services.
  • Stay abreast of trends, market conditions, industry best practices, and vendor capabilities and new developments.

Compensation

  • Manage and oversee the design, implementation, administration, maintenance and reporting of global compensation programs and initiatives.
  • Develop materials for the Compensation and Organization Development Committee of the Board of Directors, including preparation meetings with the Committee Chair and the Committee’s independent consultant. Participate in committee meetings.
  • Oversee the components of a business aligned and compliant compensation function including base pay management, short and long term incentive plans, market data and benchmarking, compensation structures and systems, compensation budget and equity analysis.

Benefits

  • Lead the global design and administration of health and welfare, relocation and retirement plans.
  • Assess the effectiveness of benefit programs, manage benefit spend, and oversee benefit consulting partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Health Services and the Enterprise Business Services organizations to provide aligned wellness initiatives and employee benefits support.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
  • 20+ years of experience in compensation and benefits, or a closely related function, including multiple leadership roles with increasing responsibility and scope.
  • Experience presenting to Compensation Committee/Board of Directors members and working with Executive Leadership.

Preferred Experience

  • Leading a global Total Rewards function and developing Total Reward programs.
  • Contributing to due diligence assessments and managing M&A, divestitures, and large-scale organization change.
  • Managing in an HR shared service environment with matrixed leadership.
