<p>A welcoming family in Canton, MA is seeking an attentive, reliable caregiver for their verbal 14-year-old child on the autism spectrum. The home includes a dog and a tortoise, and maintains a smoke-free environment.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Schedule:</p>
<ul>
<li>Temporary overnight coverage for mid October (exact dates to be discussed during interview in order to maintain family’s safety)</li>
<li>Ongoing part-time care: Occasional date night care (~1 night per week; flexible on exact days and times)</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p>Family Specifications:</p>
<ul>
<li>Smoke-free home environment</li>
<li>Pet-friendly home (1 dog and 1 tortoise)</li>
<li>Family values a caregiver who enjoys supporting special interests including arts & crafts, games, reading, and music</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p>Responsibilities:</p>
<ul>
<li>Provide continuous, line-of-sight supervision. This client is self-sufficient when bathing, and with personal care needs.</li>
<li>Execute a specialized seizure safety plan from the neurologist, including administration of nasal spray medication if required</li>
<li>Administer daily/regular medications as directed</li>
<li>Plan, prepare, and serve meals and snacks. Meals will be prepared ahead of time</li>
<li>Transport child to and from school and extracurricular activities</li>
<li>Engage in creative, enriching activities (arts & crafts, interactive games, reading, and listening to music)</li>
</ul>
<p> </p>
<p>Requirements:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated experience caring for individuals on the autism spectrum and with developmental delays</li>
<li>CPR certification</li>
<li>Seizure response experience (including familiarity with emergency nasal spray administration)</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and a reliable personal vehicle</li>
<li>Fluent in English<br><br></li>
</ul>
<p>Preferred:</p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with overnight special needs care</li>
</ul>

<p>Compensation:</p>
<ul>
<li>$22–$26 per hour (Gas stipend/reimbursement provided when using personal vehicle for transportation)</li>
</ul>
