A little more about your role...

Our Mining team is growing, and we're looking for a Senior Civil Draftsperson / Civil Designer (Tailings) to join our multidisciplinary team.

In this role, you will play a key part within a multidisciplinary design team, providing high-quality civil and mining-related drafting and design support using Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. The role requires the ability to work in collaboration with others on complex system such as tailings facilitates under guidance from senior designers and engineers.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced designer who enjoys technical challenges, values collaboration, and is passionate about delivering quality outcomes.

What you will do

You will be involved in a variety of civil and mining infrastructure projects, including

• Work collaboratively within a highly motivated, multidisciplinary team
• Good communication with others
• Coordinate closely with engineers and other design disciplines
• Civil 3D design and drafting for tailings storage facilities (TSFs)
• Embankments and internal drainage systems
• Water dams and associated infrastructure
• General earthworks modelling for mining projects
• Peripheral infrastructure and general arrangements
• Concrete detailing
• Geotechnical site investigation layouts
• Major and minor road modelling
• Hydraulic structures

Stormwater Management Plans

• MUK 3D deposition plans
• Preparation and coordination of drawings in accordance with company standards and project requirements

You will also

• Work collaboratively within a highly motivated multidisciplinary team.
• Coordinate closely with engineers and other design disciplines.
• Prepare and coordinate drawings in accordance with project and company standards.
• Support the delivery of technically excellent and innovative design solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the team.
• What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
• NQF Level 5 or higher in computer aided draughting and related fields
• Minimum of >8 years’ relevant experience in civil drafting and design

Proficient in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD

• Experience in mining and tailings-related projects will be advantageous
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong technical drafting and modelling capability
• High attention to detail and quality
• Ability to complete tasks independently
• Self-driven with a willingness to learn new design tools and technologies
