Test & Assembly Technician

We are looking for a motivated and technically minded Test and Assembly Technician to join our team, supporting the manufacture and testing of highly engineered products used across the Energy and Process Industries.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a skilled team responsible for assembling, testing, and validating complex dry gas seal products. As your knowledge, capability, and experience develop, you will progressively work on increasingly complex builds and test activities, providing a clear pathway for personal and technical growth.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and test dry gas seals in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and established procedures.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and assembly documentation to ensure accurate product build.
• Safely and effectively use a range of tools, instruments, and testing equipment to complete assembly and testing activities.
• Perform rotor balancing and other technical assembly processes as required.
• Read and monitor instrumentation during testing, accurately recording results and identifying any deviations from specifications.
• Immediately escalate any variations, non-conformances, or quality concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare, organise, and maintain assembly and test documentation, ensuring records are accurate, complete, and up to date.
• Install and set up seals within designated test rigs and operate equipment in accordance with approved test plans and procedures.
• Support Test Engineers with the setup and execution of more complex and critical product testing activities.
• Maintain the highest standards of quality, safety, and workmanship in all tasks performed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement activities aimed at improving efficiency, quality, and operational performance.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in line with company standards and health and safety requirements.
• Deliver work efficiently and productively while meeting operational targets and performance expectations.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and testing functions.
• Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required to support the team's objectives and overall business success.

Essential

• Previous experience in mechanical assembly, testing, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
• Strong mechanical or technical aptitude.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
• Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced team environment.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn.
• Ability to follow procedures and work safely within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable

• Experience working with precision engineered products.
• Familiarity with test equipment, instrumentation, and data recording.
• Understanding of quality systems and continuous improvement principles.
