About The Role
The Trainer I works full-time assisting with implementing, conducting and maintaining successful education programs for Patient Access users throughout the health system. This person works under the guidance and supervision of the Patient Access Director. The Trainer I should have excellent communication skills in both verbal and written communication as well as an above-average level of experience in operating computer software including electronic health records. In addition to developing, planning, and leading specified department training initiatives; responsibilities also include aligning educational resources with strategic focus areas, researching, rounding with caregivers, and monitoring quality, keeping the Director and Managers apprised of results. Use data to identify and develop targeted opportunities for staff development. This person will serve as a liaison to end users and application teams to ensure the correct training is completed.
- Prepares and maintains training materials and other required documentation (i.e. checklists, competencies, new employee orientation, on-going training, etc.). Conducts formal classroom training and on-the-job training.
- Investigates and assists with resolving technological and EHR discrepancies that occur.
- Provides one-on-one targeted training in response to performance deficiencies and promotes a collaborative environment by addressing opportunities in a constructive and proactive manner.
- Attend meetings with application teams, departments, etc. taking efficient notes to assist with process workflows and training material.
- Assists with testing plans for new releases and updates caregivers as required.
- Provides support in the planning, testing, installation and deployment of application upgrades and enhancements as well as new application and information technologies.
- Conducts follow-up studies to determine effectiveness of training programs by evaluating both content and resulting job performance, making changes as required.
- Collaborates with application teams and departments impacted by mid-cycle changes to maintain consistency and compliance across the health system.
- Implementation and support of credit card devices across the health system and rounding with Patient Access end users.
- Assists with working Patient Access work queues to help identify training opportunities for Patient Access end users.

Education
- H.S. Diploma - Required
- Associate's Degree - Preferred
Work Experience
- 2 Years - Hospital, Clinic, or healthcare experience in Patient Access - Required
- Working knowledge of medical terminology, billing/insurance coverage, and performance improvement - Required
- Prior training experience - Preferred
- Formal education and/or previous work experience with a personal computer, i.e. knowledge of Microsoft office products and experience working on a mainframe computer system. - Required
Licenses and Certifications
- Epic Principal Trainer - Epic Principal Trainer in Patient Access. Must complete CAD 100, TED 105, and ACC 105. - Required within 1 Year
Travel Requirements
- 20% This position does require travel throughout the health system medical centers and other training sites. - Required

Essential Technical/Motor Skills
- Analytical skills necessary to prepare and interpret statistical reports.
- Hand/eye coordination.

- Lift, bend, stoop, move about in tight spaces and may also require long periods of standing.

- Well organized in written and oral presentations.
