Machine Operator

CNC Machine Operator- Multi spindle, Job Description

Job Title: CNC Machine Operator- Multi spindle

Department: Manufacturing

Reports to: Production Lead

Primary Functional Responsibilities

The CNC Machine Operator- Multi spindle, will Set-up and Operates attending one or more NC / CNC machines/ multi-spindle, in accordance with established procedures and guidelines to meet production requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Be able to Set-up and run CNC machines with single or multi-spindle and/or index chuck.
• Work Safely in the Manufacturing Production Environment, (follow all safety rules and procedures).
• Ability to work with Personal Protective Equipment as mandate and including special PPE as required when in present of flying debris, high noise, and handling grease or chemicals.
• Follow detailed verbal / written machining instructions, processes, layouts and procedures.
• Mount chucks, jaws and fixtures as needed; mount tool blocks and cutting tools in turrets as needed, including boring bars, drills, taps, thread mills, and others.
• Operate equipment efficiently and safely; always maintain a clean area, maintain equipment lubricant levels (oil, coolant, etc.) and fill the safety daily checking sheet.
• Perform quality control checks and verification of work order specifications and tolerances, (Able to measure parts with gages and fixtures, calipers and other measuring devices as needed).
• Properly fill out quality forms, production reports, and label products correctly and legible.
• Works effectively with others, following company Core Values and Standard of Conduct.
• May provide hands on and verbal job function for training to coworkers as needed.
• Report problems with quality, processes, equipment, and materials to Production Lead.
• May support other departments and areas as needed.

Required Skills & Physical Requirements

• General knowledge to set-up and run conventional machines and CNC’s machines with single or multi spindles, including saw machines, tap and drill presses, milling and lathe machines.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
• Ability to lift and/or move 25 pounds, and up to 40 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements include close vision and color vision.
• Ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
• Be able to do mathematical calculations, Blueprint reading, Geometrical tolerances and knowledge of CNC G and M codes; be able to Load part program from laptop or DNC (Direct Numeric Control).
• Ability to work in an open warehouse environment, subject to seasonal weather (high Heat index in the summer and cold in winter).

Education & Experience

• Must have High School diploma or equivalent certificate; Technical career preferred; 3+ year of related work experience in a manufacturing/warehouse setting.

• With Good written and oral communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) language preferred.
