QA Engineer

We're building a dedicated QA team for a European financial services client operating in debt servicing and alternative assets (private equity). As QA Engineer, you'll execute and extend the test strategy for solutions built on AWS using TypeScript and Next.js, working closely with the QA Lead. This is a hands-on delivery role: you'll build and maintain automated tests, raise and track defects, and contribute to the day-to-day QA conversation with the delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Execute test plans and contribute to test strategy under the direction of the QA Lead
• Build and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, regression, E2E) for AWS-based TypeScript/Next.js applications
• Write and maintain API test coverage (REST/SOAP) within CI/CD-integrated test pipelines
• Use AI tools to speed up test creation, coverage analysis, and defect triage
• Log, track, and help prioritise defects, working closely with developers on reproduction and root cause
• Participate in requirements and edge-case discussions with developers and the QA Lead
• Contribute QA updates and metrics in team ceremonies and, where needed, to the client
• Support quality and documentation standards appropriate to a regulated financial services context

Requirements

• Experience as a QA/Test Engineer with hands-on automated testing exposure (typically 2–4 years)
• Working knowledge of automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress
• Solid scripting/coding ability (TypeScript/JavaScript/Node.js; Python, Go, or C# a plus)
• Familiarity with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB) and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience testing API-driven and web applications
• Comfortable using AI tools to support QA productivity
• Good English communication skills, comfortable presenting updates within the team
• Organised, detail-oriented approach to test planning and execution in an Agile environment
