(1877) Senior Information Management Specialist

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas

-

Take responsibility for business-as-usual (BAU) resource planning and management to ensure effective delivery and business continuity by balancing demand and supply across projects.

-

Develop secure lifecycle management, storage and processing pipelines for national statistical assets by coordinating and integrating information management practices and business processes.

-

Develop standards, frameworks, guidelines, processes and procedures for the various data management capabilities within the department, the economic statistics domain and the National Statistical System (NSS).

-

Drive the implementation of data management standards, data definitions and access rules to ensure consistent application across the department, the economic statistics domain and the NSS.

-

Establish data management indicators to monitor and track logged data- and economic statistics-related issues.

-

Manage and coordinate the overall data management maturity assessment within the department, the economic statistics domain and the NSS.

Identify deliverables, resource and skills requirements, and data-related technologies for data management frameworks and standards to meet business demands.

Provide input into the development of business continuity and recovery plans for implementation during outages and disasters.

-

Partner closely with the compilers of related frameworks and standards, including GSIM, GSBPM, SASQAF and DMBOK, to ensure alignment with relevant statistical and data management related standards and practices.

Provide integrated reporting on enterprise information management (EIM) operations, including governance structures, projects, demand management and BAU activities.

Manage the performance and development of direct reports and support the career development of employees in the unit.

Tobeconsideredforthisposition,candidatesmusthave

• at least an honours degree (NQF level 8) in computer engineering, computer science, informatics, management information systems or a related field;
• -
• a relevant data management certification, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) Practitioner certification;
• -
• at least eight to ten years’ relevant experience in data and information management; and
• -
• at least two to three years’ experience in supervising or managing a team.
