Cybersecurity Architect

Agilent is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Cybersecurity Architect to help define and drive the company's enterprise cybersecurity strategy and long-term cybersecurity vision. This role will be responsible for developing and maintaining Agilent's cybersecurity roadmap, identifying and addressing emerging security challenges, and ensuring security capabilities evolve to support the company's business objectives, digital transformation initiatives, and rapidly expanding use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The Cybersecurity Architect will partner closely with leadership, Enterprise Architecture, IT teams, business functions, and executive stakeholders to define strategic security priorities and guide security investments across the enterprise. The role will serve as a trusted advisor on future cybersecurity trends, regulatory requirements, technology architecture decisions, and security implications of emerging technologies. This position will play a critical role in shaping Agilent's approach to secure AI adoption and governance, ensuring that AI capabilities are implemented in a secure, compliant, and responsible manner across both enterprise and product environments.

Primary Duties

Develop, maintain, and communicate Agilent's multi-year cybersecurity strategy and enterprise security roadmap.

Evaluate emerging cybersecurity threats, industry trends, technology innovations, and future business requirements to identify security opportunities and risks.

Define target-state security architectures, reference architectures, and security standards supporting enterprise, cloud, data, AI, and digital transformation initiatives.

Partner with enterprise architecture, infrastructure, cloud, application development, data, and product teams to ensure security is embedded into strategic technology decisions.

Serve as a security advisor for major enterprise initiatives, acquisitions, business transformations, and technology modernization efforts.

Lead the development of Agilent's secure AI strategy, including governance models, architecture standards, control frameworks, and risk management approaches.

Assess security implications of AI technologies, large language models, autonomous agents, machine learning platforms, and emerging AI-driven capabilities.

Collaborate with IT and Information Security leadership to prioritize cybersecurity investments and roadmap initiatives based on risk and business objectives.

Drive alignment of security architecture decisions with regulatory, compliance, privacy, and business requirements.

Monitor emerging global cybersecurity regulations, standards, and industry frameworks impacting Agilent's operations, products, and AI initiatives.

Provide strategic guidance on identity and access management, data protection, cloud security, application security, infrastructure security, and security monitoring capabilities.

Develop executive presentations, technology strategies, and cybersecurity recommendations for senior leadership and governance forums.

Partner with security engineering, security operations, risk management, compliance, privacy, and product security teams to ensure cohesive security architecture and long-term capability planning.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• -
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• -
• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security architecture, enterprise architecture, information security, or related disciplines.
• -
• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise security strategies, roadmaps, reference architectures, and security transformation programs.
• -
• Strong understanding of key security architecture principles and core security fundamentals including Operational Technology.
• -
• Strong knowledge of AI technologies, AI governance frameworks, AI security controls, and emerging risks associated with generative AI and machine learning systems.
• -
• Experience interpreting and applying cybersecurity regulations, industry standards, and compliance requirements.
• -
• Proven ability to work effectively across technical, business, and executive leadership teams.
• -
• Strong communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to translate complex technical topics into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Qualifications

• -
• Experience leading enterprise-wide security transformation or modernization programs.
• -
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud Platform.

• Knowledge of NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF), NIST AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF), ISO 27001, CIS Controls, Zero Trust Architecture, and related industry standards.

• Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, healthcare, medical devices, or manufacturing.
• -
• Experience in the healthcare and/or manufacturing sector.
• -
• Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CRISC, GIAC, or equivalent

The full-time equivalent pay range for this position is $139,440.00 - $217,875.00/yr plus eligibility for bonus, stock and benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
