Vendor QA

Responsible for leading vendor audits across the West Region, ensuring adherence to food safety, quality, and operational standards. The role involves approximately 60% travel to support audit execution, compliance verification, and corrective action follow-up.

Key accountabilities

• Evaluate and approve new suppliers/vendors.

• Conduct supplier risk assessments.

• Review supplier certifications (GFSI, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, SQF, ISO 22000, etc.).

• Verify compliance with regulatory requirements such as FSSAI, LM or local food laws required to run a food factory.

• Manage supplier on boarding and approval processes.

• Responsible for handling product's quality complaints at Circle/ Regional level.
• Generating MIS out of Monthly QA Score Card, Store Assessment, Weekly QA Report (Customer Complaints), Monthly Departmental PPT Update etc.
• Follow up with vendor and Supply chain center team regarding any deviation from specs/quality in the raw and packing materials.
• To explore quality best practices available in any industry.
• To drive the new initiative in reference for improvement in Production, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety, and Moral.
• Plan and execute vendor audits across the West Region (≈60% travel).
• Evaluate and approve new suppliers/vendors.
• Conduct supplier risk assessments and review certifications (GFSI, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, SQF, ISO 22000).
• Verify compliance with regulatory requirements such as FSSAI, LM and local food laws.
• Manage supplier onboarding and approval processes.
• Handle product quality complaints at circle/regional level.
• Generate and maintain MIS reports (Monthly QA Score Card, Store Assessment, Weekly QA Report, PPT updates).
• Follow up with vendors and supply‑chain teams on deviations from specifications or quality standards.
• Identify and implement best‑practice initiatives for production, quality, cost, delivery, safety, and morale.
• Drive corrective‑action implementation and monitor its effectiveness.
• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Technology, Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in vendor quality assurance or food safety audits, preferably in FMCG/restaurant sector.
• Strong knowledge of GFSI schemes (FSSC 22000, BRCGS, SQF, ISO 22000) and Indian food regulations (FSSAI, LM).
• Proven experience in supplier risk assessment and onboarding processes.
• Excellent analytical skills with ability to generate and interpret MIS reports.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% of the time across West India.
• Strong communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and QA software tools.
• Problem‑solving mindset with capability to drive corrective actions.
• Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams.
