Business Unit Overview

Corporate Development & Smart Communities is responsible for building, maintaining and supporting Superloop's physical infrastructure so that the business and its customers receive the best possible service.

The Fibre Infrastructure team is responsible for the design, construction, operation and maintenance of Superloop's national fibre optic network, including the legacy Uecomm network acquired from Optus. The team covers fibre operations, network planning, GIS and network records, fixed wireless, point-to-point infrastructure, and recoverable works across Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria, with the objective of maximising network performance and availability for internal and external customers.

Role Purpose

The Project Manager sits within the Fibre Infrastructure team and is responsible for the delivery of construction, relocation and maintenance projects on Superloop's Layer 1 fibre network.

Projects range from small internal building cabling works through to large external network construction, and include the relocation of existing assets, including legacy Uecomm infrastructure, at the request of councils, road authorities, utilities and developers, where costs are recovered from the requesting party.

The role also supports day-to-day network operations, including customer provisioning and activation, service restoration, planned maintenance and out-of-hours escalation, ensuring the right technical teams and contractors are engaged and providing operational support during major incidents.

Key Responsibilities

-

Manage fibre infrastructure projects end to end, including scope definition, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, risk management and delivery within agreed timeframes and CAPEX or recoverable budgets.

-

Manage network relocation and recoverable works projects, including scoping, obtaining and assessing contractor quotes and variations, issuing quotes to the requesting party, and tracking cost recovery to completion.

-

Coordinate with councils, road authorities, utility providers, rail and property owners, and other external stakeholders on permits, access, road occupancy and works approvals.

-

Engage and manage contractors in line with Superloop's preferred contractor model, ensuring works are completed on time, to the specified quality standard and in accordance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.

-

Provide regular project status reporting and stakeholder communication so that progress, risks, issues and spend are visible across the business.

-

Ensure as-built documentation and network records are received from contractors and provided to the GIS team for capture in Superloop's physical network inventory, supporting accurate BYDA responses.

-

Support the Fibre Operations team with day-to-day operation of the network, including construction, service delivery, fault management and planned maintenance.

-

Manage planned repair and maintenance activities, coordinating internal and external customers and contractors to complete works on time and with minimal disruption to live services.

-

Support achievement of provisioning and fault management SLAs across the network.

-

Act as an escalation point for customer problems and questions by phone, email and in person, and participate in the out-of-hours escalation roster for service issues.

-

Arrange access for contractors and staff to commercial buildings, exchanges and nominated data centres.

-

Contribute to the continuous improvement of Fibre Infrastructure processes, tools and documentation.
