Job Overview

Job Summary**

The General Foreman Gas at Primoris Services Corporation will oversee and direct all field operations for gas utility construction projects, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency. This role involves leading crews, managing resources, and maintaining project schedules and budgets.

Job Responsibilities**

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of multiple gas utility construction crews, including excavation, pipe laying, fitting, and restoration.
• Ensure all work is performed in strict compliance with Primoris safety standards, company policies, local, state, and federal regulations, and client specifications.
• Conduct daily safety briefings, toolbox talks, and job hazard analyses (JHAs).
• Plan and schedule daily work activities, allocate resources, and manage equipment and materials to optimize project progress.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track and within budget.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate crew members, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
• Complete daily reports, progress tracking, and other required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in pre-construction meetings and provide input on project planning and execution.
• Troubleshoot field problems and make informed decisions to resolve issues efficiently.
• Perform quality control inspections to ensure work meets or exceeds industry standards.

Job Qualifications**

• High School Diploma or equivalent; advanced vocational training or certification in gas utility construction or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in gas utility construction, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
• Extensive knowledge of gas distribution systems, pipeline installation, maintenance, and repair.
• Thorough understanding of relevant safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT) and industry best practices.
• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project plans.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
• Proficient in using construction equipment and tools specific to gas utility work.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
• Certifications such as OQ (Operator Qualification) for gas pipeline work are highly desirable.

R.B. Hinkle is an underground and overhead utility contractor, specializing in the installation of conduit, manholes and streetlights through trenching, directional, drilling and moling. The company also provides underground cable installation, including new cable, replacements, upgrades and service restoration.
