This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Automation Tester with IRS GFE required based in Germany.

As a Senior Automation Tester, you will help ensure the quality, security, and reliability of software supporting an IRS code modernization <initiative.You> will translate project requirements into comprehensive test plans, test cases, and automated testing workflows.The role combines hands-on manual and automated testing with defect management, regression testing, and acceptance <testing.You> will work closely with developers and cross-functional teams throughout the software development lifecycle and CI/CD process.Your expertise will help identify issues early, improve testing efficiency, and maintain consistent software quality <standards.You> will also contribute to backend validation involving APIs and databases while helping strengthen testing practices over time.This is an opportunity to play a key role in delivering reliable modernized systems within a structured, quality-focused environment.

Accountabilities

Analyze project requirements and translate them into clear, comprehensive test plans and test cases.
Design, develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test scripts.
Set up and manage test environments to support different testing activities.
Perform functional, regression, acceptance, and other required software testing.
Develop and maintain automated tests using frameworks and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution in collaboration with development teams.
Perform backend testing involving APIs and databases, including SQL-based validation where applicable.
Participate throughout the software development lifecycle and integrate testing activities into CI/CD processes.
Collaborate with developers and technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve quality issues.
Evaluate test results and provide clear feedback on software quality, defects, and potential risks.
Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, automation coverage, efficiency, and overall quality.
Support non-functional testing activities, including accessibility, performance, and security testing when required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; candidates without a degree should have additional relevant professional experience.
Active IRS MBI clearance is required.
Demonstrated experience writing, maintaining, and executing software test scripts.
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools such as Selenium or Cypress.
Familiarity with manual testing, automated testing, regression testing, and user acceptance testing.
Experience with backend testing, APIs, databases, and SQL is a plus.
Understanding of CI/CD practices and the software development lifecycle.
Ability to translate technical and business requirements into effective testing strategies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong time management, organization, and teamwork skills.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
Experience with accessibility, performance, or security testing is an advantage.
