CAD Draftsperson - Hydraulic & Wet Fire (AU Experience)

About the Role

Are you an experienced CAD Draftsperson with a strong background in hydraulic services and wet fire systems? We are looking for a detail-oriented Hydraulic & Wet Fire CAD Draftsperson to join an Australian team on a full-time remote basis.

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with an Australian Project Lead and support hydraulic designers by preparing accurate CAD documentation, updating consultant mark-ups, coordinating services, and producing detailed construction drawings for a variety of Australian projects.

You will play an important role in ensuring drawings are accurate, clearly documented, properly coordinated, and delivered within agreed project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Hydraulic Services Drafting: Prepare detailed hydraulic services drawings using AutoCAD, including sewer, water, stormwater, gas, and trade waste systems.
• Wet Fire Drafting: Prepare wet fire services documentation, including hydrant, hose reel, and sprinkler layouts.
• Drawing Updates & Revisions: Review and incorporate consultant mark-ups, requested changes, and design revisions accurately and efficiently.
• Construction Documentation: Produce clear, accurate, and detailed construction drawings suitable for Australian projects.
• Riser Diagrams & Schematics: Prepare hydraulic riser diagrams, schematics, and associated documentation as required.
• Service Coordination: Coordinate hydraulic and wet fire services with architectural, structural, and other consultant drawings to identify and resolve potential clashes.
• Quality Assurance: Complete internal QA checks before drawings are submitted for review or issue.
• Project Documentation: Maintain organised project folder structures, drawing registers, file naming conventions, and revision records.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with Australian hydraulic designers and project leads through Microsoft Teams and other communication platforms.

• Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD experience, with a focus on hydraulic services and wet fire drafting for Australian projects.
• Strong ability to interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate design requirements into accurate construction documentation.
• Good understanding of hydraulic services, wet fire systems, and service coordination requirements.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, PDF markup software, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Outlook.
• Experience with BIM and Revit is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Comfortable participating in online Teams meetings and communicating professionally with Australian colleagues.
• Familiarity with Australian drafting standards and documentation practices is highly desirable.
