Sterilization Assistant / Receptionist| Ilam Orthodontics

We're looking for a reliable and organised Sterilisation Assistant / Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis, working:

Wednesday & Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm

This varied role combines both sterilisation and reception duties, making it ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and loves delivering excellent customer service.

In this role, you will

• Clean, sterilise, and prepare instruments in accordance with infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilisation trays for clinical procedures.
• Maintain accurate sterilisation records and ensure equipment is functioning correctly.
• Welcome patients and create a positive first impression.
• Answer phone calls and assist with patient enquiries.
• Schedule and confirm appointments using our practice management system.
• Support patient check-in and check-out processes.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.
• Assist with administrative tasks and general practice operations.
• Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the practice.

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have

• Previous experience in a dental, healthcare, sterilisation, or customer service environment (preferred).
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• A professional and friendly approach when interacting with patients.
• Confidence using computer systems and learning new software.
• The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• A strong commitment to infection control and patient safety standards.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive team-focused attitude.

• Sterilisation experience or certification is advantageous but not essential, as full training can be provided to the right candidate.
