Napier Turbochargers; part of Wabtec Corporation, is one of the worlds' leading manufacturers of industrial turbochargers serving the marine, power generation and rail sectors. Based in Lincoln, we design, manufacture and test advanced turbocharging solutions that are trusted by customers across the globe.

We are looking for skilled and motivated Mechanical Fitters to join our growing operations team and help deliver increasing customer demand. What you'll be doing

As a Mechanical Fitter, you'll play a key role in the balancing, assembly, testing and delivery of world-class turbochargers.

You'll gain exposure to multiple manufacturing, testing and engineering activities including

• Turbocharger assembly
• Dynamic rotor balancing
• Development and Production testing
• Measurement using calibrated equipment
• Continuous improvement initiatives
• Supporting service engineering activities
• Opportunities for UK and international travel (experience dependant.)

Qualifications

Essential

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

Experience

Desirable but not essential

• A minimum of four years' relevant industrial engineering experience
• Experience of rotating equipment, engines, turbochargers or similar mechanical assemblies
• Dynamic balancing experience
• Turbocharger testing and commissioning experience

Skills

• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience using a range of calibrated measuring equipment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• A self-motivated approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality work
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute towards departmental objectives
• A flexible attitude towards shift patterns and overtime when required
• A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards, ensuring a safe and sustainable working environment for all employees
