The Operations Manager oversees our organizational processes and ensures daily tasks by the drivers and other members of the operations teams are met. Their main duties include managing daily operations, assisting with the hiring process of new employees, implementing policies and strategies to improve productivity and efficiency levels, and building an enjoyable company culture.

  • Manage daily and long-term planning to create initiatives that further the company’s overall goals.

  • Coordinate different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities.

  • Assess and analyze departmental budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize profits.

  • Inspire and motivate employees to perform at their best through positive encouragement and incentive initiatives.

  • Communicate with senior officials about shifting company priorities and projects.

  • Identify potential problems and points of friction and work to find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.

  • Identify opportunities to expand or shift course to take advantage of changes in the market.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Three (3) years of transportation management experience.

  • One (1) year of supervisory experience.

  • High school diploma.

  • M-F, shift scheduled from 5:30am to 6pm

Huntington Coach began its operations in 1927 by transporting workers to local factories during World War II. In 1956, Huntington Coach changed owners and shifted into school transportation, serving Long Island communities with an inaugural fleet of 100 vehicles. Since then, Huntington has grown and expanded to make a name for itself as a leader in the industry, providing services to 12 school districts in Long Island, with over 900 vehicles in its current fleet.
