Data Products Practice Lead
ING Bank Personeel BV · CDR (Amsterdam - Cedar), Netherlands
About The Role
We are looking for an experienced Data Products Practice Lead to join the Business Design Unit within the Wholesale Banking Chief Data Office (WB CDO).
As Data Products Practice Lead, you shape how Wholesale Banking defines, scales, and embeds data products as a core capability. You will build the common product discipline that enables data to be delivered consistently, reused effectively, and adopted with clear business value. By connecting product thinking, data management, architecture, and governance, you will help strengthen the maturity and impact of WB’s data product agenda across the organization.
The team
The Business Design Unit serves as the strategic design authority of the WB CDO organization. The team is responsible for translating ING’s global data strategy, frameworks, and regulatory requirements into coherent end-to-end target-state designs across Wholesale Banking.
The unit ensures that data, business, and technology architectures are aligned, standardized, and scalable, enabling consistent implementation across domains, platforms, and delivery teams. It helps deliver regulatory-compliant and future-proof solutions by embedding data management, governance, and control requirements by design. Through design principles, blueprints, and architectural oversight, the team guides tribes, product areas, and regions towards a unified operating model and supports the continuous evolution of ING’s target data landscape.
Roles and responsibilities
As Data Products Practice Lead, you will drive the standardization, adoption, and maturity of data products across Wholesale Banking.
- Define and steer the WB data product practice strategy, roadmap, and maturity agenda aligned with business priorities, WB CDO objectives, and enterprise standards.
- Establish data productization standards, lifecycle practices, playbooks, design criteria, and adoption gates to ensure consistent delivery across domains and tribes.
- Guide domains, tribes, Product Area Leads, and practitioners in applying product standards and scalable ways of working.
- Embed data quality, governance, metadata, regulatory, architecture, platform, and control requirements into product design and lifecycle management.
- Drive adoption and value realization through usage metrics, business value measurements, feedback loops, and impact assessments.
- Connect business domains, tribes, technology partners, architecture teams, and the Global CDO to align priorities and resolve cross-functional dependencies.
- Measure and continuously improve product practice maturity, including quality, reuse, adoption, delivery efficiency, user satisfaction, and practitioner capability.
- Promote a culture of product thinking and continuous improvement to strengthen the overall data product ecosystem within Wholesale Banking.
