Sales Representative

Job Summary
Manages accounts in the Rail Plus Business Unit and will design, market, and sell CSX Transportation (CSXT) services to Intermodal customers while managing a portfolio size of approximately $20 million.
Primary Activities and Responsibilities

• Manage and increase the value of an assigned portfolio of channel partner accounts in the Domestic Rail Plus business segment.
• Prospect for new customers within an assigned market.
• Negotiate and close large, complex commercial proposals in conjunction with all relevant CSX groups, including Marketing, Service Design, Operations, Customer Service, Industrial Development, etc.
• Create and execute strategic account plans for a limited number of customers
• Establish measurements and feedback mechanisms to ensure customer requirements are met on a daily basis.
• Lead and strengthen business relationships within CSXT and customer organizations while pushing each for improved performance or increased business levels.
• Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
• 1 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business/Strategic Management, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, or Finance

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate Degree
• 3 or more years of experience in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, Business/Strategic Management, Sales/Account Management, Marketing, or Finance

Knowledge and Skills

• Leadership, problem solving, oral and written communication skills
• Analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
• Ability to handle complex Fortune 500 accounts
• Transportation or railroad industry
• Ability to relocate for purposes of transfer or promotion
• Mainframe and personal computer systems
• Ability to effectively deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
