Consultant Clinical Microbiologist (Western Certified)

Job Summary

A leading healthcare organization in the UAE is seeking an experienced Consultant Clinical Microbiologist to oversee clinical microbiology services, laboratory diagnostics, infection prevention, and antimicrobial stewardship within a tertiary-care environment.

Key Duties

• Lead clinical microbiology and diagnostic laboratory services.
• Oversee culture, sensitivity testing and microbiological reporting.
• Provide clinical consultation on complex infectious diseases.
• Support infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship and outbreak management.
• Ensure laboratory quality, accreditation and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with Infectious Disease, Pathology, ICU and other clinical teams.
• Participate in teaching, research, audits and quality improvement.

Requirements

• Medical degree with recognized postgraduate qualification in Clinical Microbiology / Medical Microbiology.
• Consultant-level experience in a hospital/tertiary laboratory.
• Recognized Board/CCT/CCST or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Strong experience in infection control and antimicrobial stewardship.
• DHA/DoH/MOHAP Consultant eligibility or license preferred/required depending on location.
