What this opportunity involves

As a Facilities Manager at JLL, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day operation and management of commercial buildings across Perth, ensuring every system runs smoothly and every occupant experiences a safe, productive environment. This role sits at the heart of our operations, where you'll oversee everything from HVAC and electrical systems to fire safety and access control, coordinating technical teams and service providers to deliver reliable, efficient facility performance. You'll be the primary point of contact for facilities-related escalations, managing vendor relationships, monitoring compliance with all applicable regulations, and maintaining the high standards our clients expect. An overview of the role

• Manage building operations across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire and life-safety, access control, and security systems, monitoring building management systems (BMS) and coordinating with technical teams to maintain safe and efficient performance
• Oversee relationships with service providers, contractors, and suppliers, coordinating planned and reactive maintenance while verifying quality, completion, and compliance with site requirements and safety procedures
• Monitor vendor performance against service-level agreements (SLAs), key performance indicators (KPIs), and budgets, addressing performance issues promptly and ensuring contractual standards are consistently met
• Maintain compliance with Commonwealth and Western Australian legislation, regulations, codes, and standards, coordinating audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident reporting to uphold work health and safety obligations
• Provide responsive, professional support for client and occupant enquiries, service requests, and operational issues, building positive stakeholder relationships that promote satisfaction and service continuity
• Coordinate workplace alterations, minor works, space modifications, and move-in or move-out activities in consultation with relevant stakeholders, communicating service impacts clearly and effectively
• Maintain accurate facilities records including maintenance histories, statutory documentation, compliance certificates, contractor records, permits, and service contracts to ensure full auditability
• Monitor operational budgets, purchase orders, invoices, and expenditure, preparing clear monthly performance reports and supporting forecasting activities
• Act as the primary escalation point for facilities-related issues, including after-hours incidents, responding promptly in accordance with agreed on-call arrangements

• Relevant qualification in facilities management, property, engineering, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience with at least two to four years in facilities management, property operations, or commercial building services
• Sound knowledge of Australian building and safety requirements, relevant industry standards, and facilities management best practice
• Proficiency in building management systems, computerised maintenance management systems (such as Manhattan), and Microsoft 365 applications
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire, and security systems, together with preventive maintenance, asset lifecycle, and contractor management principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, sound judgement, and strong attention to detail in managing operational demands
• Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and time management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Collaborative and service-focused approach, with the ability to remain composed during incidents and respond to urgent operational matters outside standard business hours when required
• Understanding of energy management, sustainability practices, and operational performance reporting (preferred)
