MPD Supervisor (WSA) || Rio de Janeiro

Responsible for the safe and efficient execution of all managed pressure drilling operations.

Responsible for/ensure

-

Monitoring and follow-up on ongoing MPD well and drilling activities.

-

Assisting the DSL during emergency well operations paralysis or well control situations during MPD operations.

-

Operations do not exceed the limitations of the unit, well, or MPD equipment.

-

Operational progress pertaining to MPD is reported to the DSL, Client, and OIM as required.

-

Preparation for upcoming MPD well and drilling activities.

-

Managing MPD equipment preparation for future drilling operations.

-

All relevant governing documents are adhered to.

-

Clear daily operational guidelines are provided to all relevant personnel.

-

Visible leadership is demonstrated by spending time in the field and monitoring MPD operations.

-

Required MPD reports are maintained, updated, and distributed as per requirements.

-

Thorough handovers are provided at each daily change of drilling crew.

-

Support the development of offshore employees’ performance and competence to ensure the Rig/Operating Area has the right skills, knowledge, and capabilities to operate under Seadrill standards and meet objectives.

Other duties are performed as and when required and/or directed by the direct supervisor.

• Well kill operations in an emergency or well control situation.

Equipment & Systems

Responsible for/ensure

• -
• Operational preparedness of all safety and emergency equipment.
• -
• First-line maintenance is performed and recorded.
• -
• MPD equipment is maintained and maintenance is recorded.
• -
• Maintaining sufficient stock of MPD equipment spare parts and materials onboard.
• -
• Equipment is prepared for future drilling operations.

Other Responsibilities

• -
• Supervise MPD equipment preparation for future drilling operations.
• -
• Verify compliance records of inspections and certification of MPD equipment.
• -
• Assist the DSL in organizing third-party personnel responsible for various MPD well program and equipment maintenance aspects.
• -
• Maintain sufficient stock of parts and materials for MPD operations.
• -
• Participate in the daily operations meeting to plan and direct job activities of the drilling department.
• -
• Ensure the drilling department is conversant with relevant MPD rig-specific procedures, and that these are understood, utilized, and updated accordingly.
• -
• Perform or lead incident investigations as required.
• -
• Actively participate in safety, departmental, pre-tour, and client meetings, as required.
• -
• Communicate with the Client under the jurisdiction of the DSL.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• -
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• -
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Driller or similar offshore position.

Education and Qualifications

• -
• Valid Well Control Certification (IWCF Level 4 – Supervisory).
• -
• Advanced Well Control.
• -
• Fluent in reading and writing in the English language.

Preferred

• -
• SafeKick MPD equipment training.
• -
• Maersk MPD specific training.
