SQL DBA

for our Qatar operations with the following skill set and terms and

conditions

Experience/Knowledge

-

Expertise

on installing, configuring, managing, monitoring and troubleshooting

SQL Server 2000/2005/2008/2008 R2 and SQL 2012

-

• + years of handling MSSQL RDBMS with clustering Experience.
• -

High

• level of expertise in Microsoft Clustering Services (MSCS) both
• Active/Active and Active/Passive with provision of failover and
• failback capabilities.
• -

Experience

• in design and maintaining Log Shipping & Mirroring.
• -

Experience

• in upgrading database from SQL Server 2000 to SQL Server 2005/
• 2008/2008 R2 and SQL 2005 to SQL 2008 R2/SQL 2012.
• -

Extensive

• experience in deploying and monitoring packages using SSIS and DTS.
• -

Must

have worked High Availability on Log Shipping, Replication,

Clustering and Mirroring

Strong

• knowledge and experience in DR Plans - Preparing DR plans and
• perform DR drill and real DR exercise
• -

Strong

• knowledge and experience in backups and recovery
• -

Strong

• knowledge to Implementing Database maintenance plan for Database
• consistence & Integrity.
• -

Strong

• Knowledge in Database Security modules
• -

Experience

• to manage SQL Server Logins, Database users and user permissions.
• -

Experience

• in Monitoring, Analyzing database performance, Tuning and
• Allocation of server resources to achieve optimum database
• performance. Tracing and Performance tuning using SQL Profiler.
• -

Experience

in configuring Transactional and Snapshot Replication, Database

Mirroring and Log Shipping in Production Environment

Proficient

• with SQL Server tools, including Enterprise Manager, Management
• Studio, Query Analyzer, Profiler, SQL Server Agent, DTS, SSRS and
• SSIS.
• -

Experience

Installing, Monitoring and Troubleshooting of SSRS & SSIS

-

Strong

• knowledge in SQL Server Reporting Services to Designing the SSRS
• reports according to the business need
• -

Experience

• in T-SQL - Writing Stored Procedures, Views, Functions and Queries
• -

Experience

• in developing the successful Backup strategies based on Recovery
• models.
• -

Should

• have experience in third party backup tools such as, Tivoli Data
• Protector for SQL and HPOV monitoring
• -

Experience

• to sync Pre-Production and Development database server environment
• with production.
• -

Experience

• to Applying Security updates, hot fixes and SP up gradation.
• -

Process

• Experience – Very strong in ITIL processes on Change Management,
• Problem Management, Incident Management and ITIL Process related
• activities
• -

Provide

• 7x24 environment uptime supports to all SQL Servers.
• -

Excellent

• communication skills, both written and oral to interact effectively
• with application team, vendors and external customers.
• -

Provide

• on-call/off-hours DBA support as well as perform weekend maintenance
• tasks.
• -

Should

• have Experience in backup tools like TSM TDP, EMC Networker.
• -

Knowledge

• in Unix OS is will be preferred.
• -

Should

• have basic knowledge in managing and administration of Oracle RDBMS.
• -

Should

• have knowledge in developing PL/SQL.
• -

Should

• have basic Knowledge in Oracle installations and configuration.
• -

Should

• have basic knowledge in Oracle Memory Architecture.
• -

Should

• have knowledge in Oracle High availability solution (RAC).
• -

Should

• have knowledge in Oracle Backup and Recovery.
• -

Knowledge

in Shell scripting will be an add one advantage.

Qualifications

Relavent

• experience minimum of 5 years in SQL Database administration.

• Microsoft®
• Certified IT Professional ﴾MCITP﴿

• Microsoft®
• Certified Technology Specialist ﴾MCTS﴿
• -

SQL

• Clustering experience is mandatory
• -

Oracle

Certifiied Administartor /Professional will be an add one advantage.

Main

Purpose of the Role

-

Primary

• role to provide support on SQL database maintenance and BAU.
• -

Secondary

• role to Provide Support on Oracle, Sybase.
• -

Handling

• infra DBA projects,
• BAU service improvements and to provide 24/7 On- call support.

Terms

and conditions

Joining

time frame: 2 weeks (maximum 1 month).

The

• selected candidates shall join VAM Systems – Qatar and shall be
• deputed to one of the leading Banks in Qatar.
