FBA Lunch Coordinator

SUMMARY
The FBA Lunch Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen for the FBA Lunch program from the food production to staff support, while ensuring the US Department of Agriculture and school policies and procedures are being met. This position also develops and maintains cooperative, productive workplace relationships in a manner that creates a pleasant environment for those serving and those being served.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Calculates recipe quantities for the purpose of assuring adequate meals to meet the need of staff and students, without creating excess waste.
- Supervises daily food preparation for the school. Cooks, prepares individual portions, and performs other food preparation duties.
- Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards and regulations.
- Prepares daily, monthly, and yearly food service reports and other paperwork as required.
- Prepares, receives, and verifies food/supply orders according to schedule. Submits orders through established ordering procedures. Performs monthly inventory of food/supplies.
- Serves prepared food to students.
- Cleans equipment used, including utensils, dishes, mixers, and machines. Performs general cleaning duties in kitchen.
- Works with students/parents/faculty employees to ensure satisfaction in such areas as quality, service, and problem resolution.
- Able to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- A heart for the local church, a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and a passion to help others find and follow Jesus.
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Prior K-12 food service experience (PREFERRED) - Special food service training recommended (ServSafe required within 90 days of employment).
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to prepare and maintain necessary records
- Energetic and enthusiastic individual with a customer service orientation, who is accessible and approachable.
- Ability to extend a recipe and accurately determine food requirements.
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and students.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and others.
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently.
- Ability to approach others in a tactful manner.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond to supervisor direction and take responsibility for own actions.
- Ability to maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and/or parent information.
- Ability to meet challenges with resourcefulness and generate suggestions for improving work.
