<div>The Events and Ministry Coordinator will be responsible for excellence in executing the service plan of Apartment Life. Specifically, they work with their Apartment Life supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule to serve through events and programming in order to meet the needs of each community. Programming can include resident events, workshops/classes for adults and families, resourcing activities and welcoming new residents. This role internally will be called<u> Coordinator of Resident Services.</u></div>

<div><strong>Important Details:</strong></div>

<ul>
<li>The coordinator role is part time, volunteer, serving 2 small communities housing <span style="text-decoration: underline;">University/College students</span> located in <strong>Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.</strong></li>
<li>The coordinator will live onsite at the community and must be able to accommodate a studio apartment unit which is ideal for a single adult.<strong> </strong></li>
<li><strong>It is not a paid role.  A rent concession is provided for the apartment unit by the management.  The coordinator is responsible only for monthly utilities.</strong> </li>
<li>The volunteer role can be completed during evenings and weekends.</li>
<li>The coordinator will plan and host several activities each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.</li>
<li>The coordinator will create a monthly schedule that includes community activities and/or workshops.</li>

<li>Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that fit each community's needs.</li>
<li>Organize and host educational workshops for adults. </li>
<li>Meet with residents to provide support and connect them with resources</li>
<li>Share information about rental, food, and other assistance programs</li>
<li>Overall all activities to ensure they run smoothly</li>
<li>Communicate regularly with onsite staff</li>
<li>Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program and goals</li>
<li>Submit monthly reports on activities and impact</li>

<div class="text-body regular">
<ul>
<li>Must be 18 years of age or older</li>
<li>Fluency in both English and Spanish is required (bilingual)</li>
<li>Be legally eligible to serve in Puerto Rico</li>
<li>Experience in event planning, social impact, ministry, or human services</li>
<li>Excellent listening/communication skills in English and Spanish (written and verbal)</li>
<li>Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed</li>
<li>Basic computer skills</li>
<li>Able to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports</li>
<li>Access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors</li>
<li>Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds</li>
<li>Have the availability to commit weekly time to serve and complete volunteer responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home</li>
<li>Be able to make the minimum volunteer term commitment to serving in the apartment community</li>

<li>Previous event planning experience</li>
<li>Experience working within a budget</li>
<li>Some relevant experience using social media</li>
<li>Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners</li>
