ABOUT POMONA COLLEGE: Located near Los Angeles, California, Pomona College is widely regarded as one of the nation's premier liberal arts colleges. The Psychological Science Department at Pomona College invites applications for two temporary, part-time Lecturers for Spring 2027/academic year, 2026-2027. The specific discipline is open, although candidates able to teach electives in sports psychology, clinical neuropsychology, development, or developmental psychopathology are preferred. Each position has a teaching load of one course to be taught in the Spring Semester.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability or potential to teach and mentor exceptional students of diverse backgrounds—utilizing pedagogical practices that are rigorous, inclusive, and which promote academic equity.

Education--Required
- Ph.D. in hand by July 1, 2026

Teaching Experience--Preferred
Demonstrable experience teaching in the candidate’s area of expertise is preferred.

Please note: Employment is contingent upon providing proof of the legal right to work in the United States as required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 for the duration of the contract, January 1, 2027 – May 31, 2027.
Compensation for this position ranges between $9,000 – $9,900 per course. Salary is commensurate with years in rank and teaching experience. Compensation will be paid in equal monthly installments between January and May, depending on the contract.

REQUIREMENTS: For the Spring Semester, the contract period is January 1, 2027 through May 31, 2027, with instruction beginning on Tuesday, January 19, 2027. After submitting proof of work authorization and completing onboarding, lecturers are expected to prepare for their classes. This non-tenure-track position is instructional and does not require student advising, faculty service or participation in faculty governance.
