Summary of Job Duties

Join the Department of Pharmacology and contribute to innovative cardiovascular research as a Postdoctoral Fellow. This position offers an exciting opportunity to expand your research expertise, lead laboratory operations, mentor developing researchers, and work toward independent funding.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will perform animal handling and basic animal procedures, genotyping, standard molecular biology techniques, cell culture, and experiments requested by the Principal Investigator. This role will also support general laboratory operations and maintenance while supervising a laboratory group consisting of students and laboratory staff.

Additional duties include training new employees and students in basic laboratory techniques and overseeing staff compliance with University, State, and Federal guidelines for the safe operation of a laboratory. The selected candidate will be expected to pursue independent funding and develop research in collaboration with the cardiovascular research team.

Preference will be given to applicants with experience in animal studies, cell culture, Western blotting, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, and microscopy.

This position is ideal for a motivated researcher who is ready to strengthen their scientific expertise, provide laboratory leadership, and advance meaningful cardiovascular research.
