Summary of Job Duties

We are seeking applications for a one-year Research Associate experienced in mixed-methods, applied research and program evaluation to join a new and growing evaluation center.

Research & Evaluation

  • Design and implement applied research and evaluation projects for partner organizations
  • Topic areas will primarily be public health focused, but may also include education and economic
  • development
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis
  • Work with university’s Institutional Review Board, as needed
  • Create actionable and utilization-focused client-facing products from research findings, such as reports, executive summaries, and presentations

Project Management

  • Assist with project management, including developing scopes of work and tracking and reporting
  • milestones
  • Mentor and supervise teams of graduate students on evaluation projects

Community Engagement

  • Work closely with community partners and clients, understanding that evaluation is done “with”, not
  • “to” and the evaluation needs to be rigorous and systematic while also being flexible and supportive
  • to the needs of community partners.
  • Present findings to broad audiences of stakeholders
  • Submit project findings to scholarly academic journals and present at academic conferences
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

-

At least two years of applied research and evaluation experience including design, data collection and analysis using a variety of evaluation methods, and tailored reporting for a range of stakeholders

A master’s degree in public service, public health, public administration, social and behavioral sciences, epidemiology, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education. Alternatively, candidates with a Ph.D. or ABD in a related field are also encouraged to apply.

Experience engaging with community partners and collaborators
