Job Summary

Serves as an experienced mechanic and performs preventative maintenance as well as minor and major mechanical repairs on University vehicles and other mechanical equipment.

Job Description

• Services and maintains mechanical equipment and University vehicles.
• Repairs electrical systems such as alternators, starters, wiring problems, etc.
• Recommends the replacement of or the purchase of equipment, parts, and supplies.

Job Responsibilities

• Mounting & balancing tires
• Preventative maintenance including oil changes
• Full brake system repair
• Steering & suspension repair
• Engine performance & mechanical repair (gas & diesel)
• Drivetrain repair including some transmission repair or replacement
• Using diagnostic equipment: scan tools, test lights, multimeter, and other tools
• Hydraulic cylinder & hose repair
• A/C system service & repair

Preferred Qualification: 3 years of related experience

Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
