POSITION/ROLE OVERVIEW

The International Panel on Migration (IPM) is a new scientific, independent, interdisciplinary international, and permanent organization that draws on cutting-edge research across social sciences to provide comprehensive and systematic knowledge on migration and displacement. Its core mission is to communicate the results of academic research to inform the public sphere and provide necessary evidence for migration governance.

We are seeking Research Assistant to support IMP’s data analysis, social media and online presence, and meeting coordination to support the IPM Secretariat Steering Committee and Advisory Board.

CORE CAPABILITIES, PRIMARY DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support database management for the IPM initiative

  • Support data and analysis of the IPM Survey

  • Manage social media and online presence for the initiative

  • Organize and coordinate meetings to support the IPM Secretariat Steering Committee and Advisory Board

  • Support the operations and logistics of the IPM Working Groups

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a matriculated student at The New School.

WORK MODE

This position is primarily in-person and is based on campus to support effective in-person collaboration and engagement. #LI-DNI

Hybrid or remote work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis, depending on the nature of the role and operational needs. Any such arrangement must be discussed and approved in advance by the appropriate division lead or their designee.

HOURLY RATE: $31.37/hr

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.
