What Drives You? Looking to shape how communities grow and develop? Join us as a Land Use Engineer, a fast-paced role supporting land development and transportation operations. You’ll review commercial site plans, subdivisions, and utility designs to understand how new projects affect VDOT’s roadway network, apply VDOT standards, and provide clear, actionable engineering guidance. You’ll also manage workloads and project schedules, prepare correspondence and permit documents, and work directly with developers, local officials, and VDOT teams to solve problems and keep projects moving. This is front line work where your expertise influences safety, mobility, and long-term regional growth.
