Actuarial Associate

<p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p>
<p>This position’s primary responsibility is to support the GAAP or Statutory/Tax Actuarial Valuation and Financial Reporting procedures for Fidelity & Guaranty Life. This position will execute either the GAAP or Statutory/Tax valuation processes of designated lines of business.</p>
<p>This position reports to the Actuary, Actuarial Valuation or Sr. Associate Actuary.</p>
<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Monthly production of reserves under the following bases: GAAP or Statutory/Tax</li>
<li>Develop information for preparation, review and analysis of reserve movements</li>
<li>Maintenance/enhancement and timely execution of valuation controls</li>
<li>Assist in maintenance of the valuation programs for new products, new regulations, etc.</li>
<li>Other projects as assigned</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience and Education Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related technical field</li>
<li>Successful completion of five ASA examination requirements</li>
<li>Minimum of one year of related actuarial experience</li>
<li>Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills</li>
<li>Experience with indexed products preferred but not required</li>
<li>Exposure to GGY-AXIS or similar actuarial modeling software preferred</li>
</ul>

<li>Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and displays a high energy level</li>
<li>Team player who has the ability to function as a key member of a small group</li>
<li>High degree of ownership for their areas of responsibility</li>
<li>Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)</li>
<li>Ability to learn and utilize actuarial software systems</li>
<li>Effective verbal and written communication</li>
<li>Typical professional office environment</li>
<li>Periods of extended sitting required</li>
</ul>
